Volunteers Needed for Upcoming Event

March Events

June’s is looking for 3-5 volunteers to assist with an event in Rio Rancho on Saturday, March 28. If you are interested in volunteering for a two-hour shift, we’re looking for volunteers who can assist with setting up, being at the table during the event, or packing up.

Eggs ‘n Beggin Pet-acular
Saturday, March 28, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. MT
Cabezon Community Center and Park
2307 Cabezon Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124

The event features a dog parade and costume contest and an Easter egg hunt for pets. Food trucks will have lunch available for purchase.

Setup Time: 9 – 10 a.m.
Our Role for Setup: We need 2 people to set up the canopy and tables and place JSCR materials on the tables before the event begins.

Event Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Our Role During the Event: We need volunteers who can greet people who approach our table, take money for any purchases, share info about June’s, and answer questions.

Pack Up Time: 2 p.m. Until Finished
We also need volunteers to help pack up around 2:00, so if a few of you can stay for that, it would be much appreciated!

Volunteers receive a June’s Senior Cat Rescue t-shirt to wear. If you are interested in assisting us with this event, please email vickie@jscr.org by March 19.

April Events

We are also looking for 5-6 volunteers to work 2-hour shifts during our fundraiser day at Barnes & Noble on Saturday, April 4.

Our Role: We will hand out flyers to customers. June’s receives 10% of any customer purchases. This will be our third year participating in the Barnes & Noble community give-back day. We will also have a table with JSCR materials to inform the public of our mission, as well as a volunteer flyer for customers who are interested in volunteering for us. This event is right inside the front door of B&N. 

You will be trained how to greet customers about our rescue when you arrive and the 10% donation if they make a purchase. 

You may sign up for two-hour shifts starting at 10:00 am. Please email the hours you’re available to vickie@jscr.org.
