Spay and Neuter Programs

Did you know that spaying or neutering your pets provides health benefits in addition to preventing unwanted pets? Spaying helps prevent a uterine infection called pyometra and breast cancer, which is fatal in about 90 percent of cats. Neutering can reduce spraying, roaming, and aggressiveness, and if done before a kitten is 6 months old, prevent testicular cancer.

If spaying or neutering your cat is too expensive, there are many reduced-cost and free spay and neuter programs in New Mexico that can help you out. To make it easy for you, we’ve compiled them here.
