Celebrating 13 Years of Rescuing Senior Cats!

This month, June’s Senior Cat Rescue celebrates our 13th anniversary!

It all began with one cat, Ninety-Nine. When our founder Janet’s mother, June, passed away, she had a senior cat named Ninety-Nine. No one in our family wanted Ninety-Nine, so Janet decided to drive to California to get her. On the long drive back to New Mexico, she decided that she had to do something to help the senior cats who are left homeless when their owner passes away or becomes too ill to care for them. That’s when June’s Senior Cat Rescue was born.

In the last 13 years, we have grown from 1 cat to 50: with cats living at Hannah’s House, our main sanctuary home, and foster homes.

In honor of our anniversary, we’re celebrating our seniors all month long with Senior Superlatives! This month, we will share the stories of our cats: the first, the oldest and youngest, the sweetest, the silliest, the shyest, and the grumpiest.

Today, that promise has grown from 1 cat to 50 — with seniors living safely at Hannah’s House and in loving foster homes.

This month, we celebrate 13 years of love, dignity, and second chances.

💛 Help us continue the promise.
