Meet Gigi, the Carry-Me Cat

Our newest resident, Gigi, was abandoned when her owners were forced to move after their home was condemned. The place they moved to did not allow pets, and Gigi, confused and alone, stayed locked inside the empty, condemned house for two months, relying on occasional feedings, but not knowing why she’d been left hungry and afraid. That was until we heard about her plight and stepped in to help her.

But as 10-year-old Gigi was settling in at Hannah’s House, we noticed she was lethargic and not eating. We were worried. Then she started vomiting, had a swollen belly, and was drinking and urinating much more than usual. We became alarmed. Gigi was not spayed, and we knew these symptoms indicated a serious and potentially life‑threatening uterine infection called pyometra, which can happen to cats who aren’t spayed.

Thanks to prompt veterinary care, she was spayed, treated with antibiotics, and has made a full recovery. We’re so glad Gigi was with us when this infection developed—if she had been locked inside the empty house, she almost certainly would not have made it.

Now healthy and fully recovered, Gigi is a petite, 6‑pound calico girl who absolutely loves being held—and even carried! She’ll happily nuzzle into your neck and soak up affection. She enjoys gentle exploring and is mostly quiet—until she surprises you with the sweetest, daintiest little meow.

Gigi has survived so much in her 8 years and is ready for a calm, loving home where she can be the center of attention and never be left behind again. She would thrive with someone who is home often and can give her the one‑on‑one affection she craves. She prefers to be the only cat, as she loves being her person’s constant companion.

If you’re looking for a devoted, gentle companion who will cherish every cuddle, Gigi may be the perfect match for you. If you’re interested in adopting Gigi, please fill out our adoption form here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/44350/generic
