Help Mimba and Other Cats Smile Again

Mimba is a quiet tabby who loves nothing more than curling up on the couch and watching TV with her foster. But recently, something changed: she was eating more gingerly than usual.

A trip to the veterinarian revealed the problem—swollen, painful gums caused by dental disease. Her vet recommended a dental procedure to clean her teeth, examine her mouth, and relieve her pain.

Mimba had her dental procedure on August 6. Today, she’s recovered, eating normally again, and happily seeking out sunny spots in her new foster home.

Mimba is comfortable again. But so many senior cats aren’t.

By age 12, approximately 70% of cats have some form of dental disease. Senior cats can develop painful conditions including stomatitis, periodontitis, and tooth resorption—conditions that can make something as simple as eating incredibly painful.

The advanced dental care our cats need is also expensive. Each dental procedure costs $1,100–$1,500. June’s Senior Cat Rescue averages nine dentals a year, adding up to roughly $12,000 in veterinary expenses annually—nearly 20% of our total veterinary care budget.

That’s where you can make a difference. Your September gift will help provide lifesaving dental care to senior cats who can’t tell us when they’re hurting. Your support can turn painful meals into comfortable ones, swollen gums into healthy mouths, and suffering into relief.

Every senior cat deserves to feel comfortable, loved, and cared for in their golden years.

Will you help more seniors like Mimba smile again?
